Additional Pieces

Below are some additional pieces that we have in our house. They could be useful, but will definitely need some work.

Horse Settee

This horse settee was my parents and is one of the antiques that was passed down to me. It's solid and VERY heavy. The fabric is hideous, but I envision reupholstering in a leather. The wood would also need to be refinished. On one side the horse ears have been broken off. It could be a nice addition to an office, entry, landing, etc.

Brass Tables

We have two of these brass tables (passed down from Jeff's grandmother). They are topped with a thick piece of greenish glass. I was originally thinking about using them in the living room side-by-side as a coffee table or even possibly upholstering a board and using them as stools. Although, I'm not quite sure they'd be able to hold much weight. The shape is wonderful.

Brass Lamp

These lamps were also passed down from Jeff's grandmother. The bigger brass lamp needs a new lamp shade (we do still have the original shade) and the torchieres might need rewiring.

Measurements: to come.

Mirror

I bought this mirror at Goodwill to use in my four-year-olds bedroom (as a full-length mirror). I've recently been reconsidering using the space in her bedroom marked for the mirror for some book shelves instead.

Measurements: to come.

I then began to think that this mirror might be able to be repurposed for something a little more flashy. And then I came across this picture of the rex mirror...

I absolutely love this mirror, but the $4500 price tag is definitely out of my range. I then began to think that this mirror could be a good candidate for a DIY version of the rex mirror (only a different shape). One option I was thinking was to silverleaf (or silver paint) the mirror and then follow the shape of the mirror with nailhead trim on top. Another option would be to glue wooden shapes to the mirror and silverleaf (or silver paint) over them. I'm not sure how it would turn out or the amount of time it would take, but I thought it might be worth a try. If it turned out well, it might make a good entryway mirror.
