Hi, we're the Kocurs and we live in the Charlotte, NC area. We're a family of four with two young children (4 and under) and have been in our house almost 4.5 years. Stats for our house include two floors with a full unfinished basement (3 floors total), 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 1 half bath, entryway, formal living, formal dining, kitchen & breakfast, family room, study/playroom and bonus room. We have yet to completely decorate a room with many of the rooms in need of full decorating. We have ideas about what direction we would like to take in each of the rooms, but lack the time to fully research a path in order to bring everything together in a cohesive fashion. Our style is fresh and eclectic (from vintage and rustic to modern and glamourous) with pops of color. We prefer not to have everything in a room of the same style. And since we do have two little ones the design also needs to take them in to account. We love art, photography and typography and definitely need to infuse our house with it more. We like decorative accessories and chotchkies, but don't like a cluttered look. When it comes to furniture, we like quality pieces that will last. We don't mind doing projects (painting, light carpentry, etc.) ourselves as long as they can be finished in a weekend or two. Longer projects will be hired out and will need to be considered in relation to the budget.
We're drawn to eDecorating because of it's modular nature allowing us to decorate at our own pace. In conjunction with decorating our home, we will also be working towards the goal of finishing our basement and landscaping our yard.
You can see the types of things we're drawn to here... http://pinterest.com/tkocur/for-the-inside/ and here http://pinterest.com/tkocur/accessories/
We created this blog to better communicate with interior decorators that offer eDecorating services. We are still in the process of detailing each of our rooms and have started with our Entryway/Hallway and Dining Room. If we had an original design direction for a room, we have stated so within the individual room postings. However, that in no way means you as the designer needs to go along that path if another design would be better suited. We just wanted to let you know what we were originally thinking for the room so that you could get "inside our heads" a little better.
